A farm in Libertyville is opening for the season. Test your putting skills at an award-winning mini golf course in Lincolnshire. Student artists take the stage in Grayslake. Antioch offers up plenty of Easter events. They are hopping around in Historic Downtown Long Grove. Here we look at the top five things to do this weekend, April 7-9, 2023.
Old Lake County had a farm, E-I-E-I-O. Lambs Farm opens its doors for the season. A petting area with sheep, goats, and many other livestock critters to meet and greet, various attractions like miniature golf, an old-world carousel, a Lambs Farm locomotive, a playground, and more highlight the six-decade-old Libertyville/Green Oaks farmyard. Visit the homestead's Dogwood Pet Shop, Magnolia Café and Bakery, and the Sugar Maple Country Store for delectable treats, unique treasures, adorable puppies, and kittens. This weekend, the Lake County farm hosts its Bunny Brunch on April 7-8 and its Easter Brunch on April 9 at the Magnolia Café and Bakery. The Bunny Brunch also hosts an arts and crafts session and a meet and greet with Peter Cottontail. Both brunches require reservations by calling 847-362-5050. The Libertyville grounds' businesses benefit programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. The farmyard is open through October.

Hit the links in Lake County…on a more miniature course. It's all in the hips as Par-King Skill Golf in Lincolnshire has reopened FORE the season. So, make your tee times for some of the most unusual, scenic, challenging, and competitive outings at one of Lake County's iconic architectural gems: this innovative and imaginative course dons two 18-hole courses, 19 moving obstacles, and seven waterholes. The mini-links have received accolades from the Travel Channel, The Daily Herald, Golf Digest, the Chicago Sun-Times, USA Today, and more. Par-King Skill Golf is open daily through October. When visiting, bring cash, as the course does not accept credit cards. Children must be at least 48 inches tall to be admitted.

"With theatre, you have to be ready for anything," said actor Willem Dafoe. Celebrate the creativity of CLC students in their performance entitled 'Play On!' at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. College of Lake County students showcases their abilities and talents as actors, directors, stage managers, designers, and technicians. The center stage acts are a variety of comedy, parody, drama, and other genres. The Grayslake center also features this event on April 14-16. "In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it, you'll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade." Then. Antioch's annual Easter Parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. on Skidmore Drive. The parade heads north on Main to Williams Streets. Immediately following the precession, the Eggcellent Easter Hunt commences by the bandshell for children ages ten and under. Youngsters that receive ten eggs can win three exclusive Easter baskets per age group. Then, head back downtown Sunday as the Rivalry Alehouse hosts an Easter Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. That giant egg-hiding bunny will attend from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. To reserve your space, call 847-603-1124.

"Dance this new creation. It's the new sensation. Do the Bunny hop. Hop, hop, hop" – Ray Anthony. Visit Historic Downtown Long Grove as it hosts its free family-fun event, Bunny Hop. Families will bounce from station to station at Brothers' Field. The rabbit-themed fest also features face painting, fire truck tours, ponies, children's eggs, an Easter bunny's appearance, and more.
